This is my most favorite cereal ever. I love it. The unfortunate thing is that it's not really being sold in my area, so Amazon is my saviour. It's a lot of cereal, but I'm pretty confident that I'll eat it all :)

So I remember eating this cereal around Halloween time growing up as a kid and loving it but then I stated noticing I was seeing it less and less on store shelves. I went about two or three years waiting for this cereal to come back on the shelves every October but it never did! I figured General Mills had discontinued it so I went through withdraw symptoms and cried myself to sleep for the past three years. But then on a whim I looked up Count Chocula on Amazon and to my surprise it was there! Thank God for the Internet! So basically if your a fan of this amazing cereal, Count Chocula, what are you waiting for? And buy it already!

I don't know why they don't have this year-round locally, but I always get excited for it around Halloween.

A friend of mine got me waxing nostalgic about Count Chocula, Franken Berry, and Boo Berry when he was telling me about a CD featuring all three that seemed to generate alot of buzz, and an internet site that had old radio broadcasts for horror movies and things relating to Halloween, among them was a 70's skit starring the Monster Cereal trio called "Disco Monster Mania", needless to say I cracked up at how hilariously bad it was, and when he showed me a box of Franken Berry that he bought from the local supermarket he worked at, it instantly made me want to get any of the three monster cereals.
I had to do a minor bit of searching, as I was very disappointed to find out that the supermarket I work for didn't have any of the three Monster Cereals in stock at all. So I went across the way to my friend's workplace, and managed to find Count Chocula, needless to say, I saw it was 2 for 4 bucks, I jumped at it, grabbed myself 4 boxes, there were 2 left afterward. Anyway, paid the 8 bucks, got home, and poured myself a bowl.
All I can say is wow, I had literally not had this cereal in forever, and after finally finding it at that local supermarket around here, and finding out that I can also order this stuff on-line, I knew I had hit the jackpot. This stuff still tastes fantastic, turns the milk all chocolatey, and to me, it puts Cocoa Puffs to shame in terms of taste and texture, plus, it has marshmallows. What is not to love? Seriously, this stuff totally hits a home run when it comes to great cereals. And I am glad to know that they are still being produced, even if it's just a seasonal item, it still warms my heart any time I see this stuff, I always think of that classic line "I vant to eat your cereal!" delivered in that Bella Lugosi-esque voice.
This stuff is a winner folks, trust me on this. It deserves five stars because it's just that damn good!

I have been eating this cereal regularly since I was 12 yrs old - and back then my mom would only let me eat it as an evening snack, not for breakfast! Today as a 40 yr old, I am lucky to have couple of stores in my area (Upper Montgomery County) that sell it, for just under $2/box. And sometimes one store has a deal where you buy 4, get $4 off and you can use additonal Gen Mills coupons too. Needless to say, I'm not embarrassed to go up to the checkout with 12 boxes, especially when I'm sometimes only paying 50-75 cents/box!! IMHO, eating things like this, which have good nutritional value thanks to additives, is better than completely skipping breakfast or just chugging coffee. And my whole breakfast (cereal, milk & OJ)) only costs $1-1.50.
